”I would often stare out of the window of my apartment in Dubai, mesmerized by the towering buildings and glimmering lights of the city – HABIBI COME TO DUBAI seeks to capture that same sense of awe and wonder.
The teddy bear, with its innocent and curious expression, represents the childlike wonder and excitement that can still be found in the heart of a bustling and cosmopolitan city like Dubai. The apartment in the painting serves as a metaphor for the artist’s own journey, as they reflect on how far they have come from their childhood dreams, and how much the city has shaped them into the person they are today.
Through ‘HABIBI COME TO DUBAI’, I invite the viewer to experience the same sense of possibility and adventure that they felt as a child looking out over the city that never sleeps.
